Chronology

At the beginning...

The first traces of exploitation of the quarries of Brétigny (Chauvigny), Brétignac (Sireuil) and Migné appear in the 19th century.

1953

The company was founded in 1953 and was known as “Carrières de Brétigny“. It then brought together 2 quarries located near Poitiers (Vienna): the Brétigny quarry in Chauvigny & the Migné quarry in Migné-Auxances.

1970

The Migné quarry is coming back to life and is once again in operation.

1982

The Company “Carrières de Brétigny” is expanding by acquiring a new quarry, the Brétignac quarry (Sireuil), located near Angoulême.

2007

The Company “Carrières de Brétigny” changes its name to “FRANCEPIERRE Poitou-Charentes“.
This entity now brings together 3 careers under the same name:
1 open-air, the Brétigny quarry (Chauvigny), 2 underground, the Brétignac (Sireuil) & Migné quarries, as well as a processing plant located in Jardres, near Chauvigny.

2010

The Company “Francepierre Poitou-Charentes” gains new momentum and is bought by the Company “Carrières Pain”.
On the one hand, this merger diversifies the offer by expanding the range.
On the other hand, “Francepierre Poitou-Charentes” is strengthening its historical know-how, namely the extraction, transformation and marketing of natural stones.

2013

“Carrières PAIN” transferred its rights in 2013 to the company “LP INVEST”.

The workshop & its know-how

Located in Jardres, in the Vienne department, Francepierre Poitou-Charentes is present at every stage to ensure you get the best stone (extraction – processing – quality control).

The site has a team that perfectly masters its art and a high-performance production tool (multi-blade frame, debiter, numerically controlled machine, polisher, moulder, etc.), which allows it to respond to all requests. : massive element, paving, covering, balustrade, fireplace, etc.
